Nigerian singer Damini Ogulu, widely known as Burna Boy, has achieved a significant milestone by surpassing one billion streams in the United Kingdom.
During his sold-out show at London Stadium on Saturday night, the ‘African Giant’ was honored with a BRIT plaque in recognition of this achievement.
This feat not only cements his place in music history but also places him alongside Wizkid as the only African artists to achieve over a billion streams in the UK.
Additionally, Burna Boy holds the record for the highest-charting African album on the UK chart, with ‘Love, Damini’ reaching the top in July 2022. His success continued as he became the first African artist to sell out London Stadium twice, with Saturday’s concert marking another milestone in his remarkable career.
