Former President Donald Trump has returned to his home in New Jersey after being injured in an assassination attempt during a rally on Saturday in Butler, Pennsylvania, according to BBC reports.
During Trump’s speech at the event, gunfire erupted, causing panic among the crowd as Secret Service agents quickly surrounded the former president.
Trump, who emerged with a bloodied face, stated that he had been shot in the ear. He described hearing a “whizzing sound” and feeling a “bullet ripping through skin.”
The FBI identified the gunman as 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks, who was shot and killed by Secret Service agents.
