A promising footballer, Chisom Oodo, tragically passed away on Saturday, August 10, during a training session in Ogrute, a community in Igbo-Eze North Local Government Area of Enugu State.

According to reports from Premium Times, Chijioke Eze, President of Concerned Igbo-Eze North Youths, confirmed the incident, stating that there are suspicions the footballer suffered a cardiac arrest during the training.

Eze also noted that Chisom Oodo had recently excelled in the Igbo-Eze North Family Football Tournament held last December. Due to his outstanding performance in the tournament, he was selected for trials at Enugu Rangers Football Club.

“It was during the training that this unfortunate incident occurred. God knows best,” Eze added.

The late Mr. Oodo hailed from Aji, another community within the Igbo-Eze North Local Government Area.

May his soul rest in peace.
