A user on the social media platform X (formerly Twitter) has reacted with sarcasm to the emotional appearance of the Deputy Director General of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Gubernatorial Campaign Council during an interview on Arise TV, following the recent Edo State governorship election defeat.
The user, referencing the official’s political missteps, pointed out that in 2020, the PDP deputy resigned from Governor Godwin Obaseki’s cabinet to join the All Progressives Congress (APC), believing that APC candidate Osagie Ize-Iyamu would defeat Obaseki. When Obaseki won, the deputy was left without a role and remained with the APC until June 2024, before switching back to support Asue Ighodalo, the PDP candidate in the 2024 election. Unfortunately for him, his hopes were dashed once again when APC’s Monday Okpebholo emerged victorious in the race.
The post added humor to the critique, saying, “He miscalculated and lost out again. He needs to beg his village people in Edo,” followed by laughing emojis.
The comments have sparked a lively conversation online, with many discussing the unpredictability of political allegiances and the consequences of misjudgments in Edo politics.
