The Emir of Kano, Muhammad Sanusi II, has responded to former President Goodluck Jonathan, reaffirming that he was dismissed as Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), contrary to Jonathan’s claim that he was merely suspended pending an investigation into the alleged disappearance of $49.8 billion.

Sanusi’s rebuttal came after Jonathan, while speaking at the launch of the book *Public Policy and Agents Interests: Perspectives From The Emerging World*, refuted claims that Sanusi was removed for exposing corruption within the government.

Sanusi, who co-authored the book alongside Dr. Shamshudeen Usman, a former Minister of Planning under Jonathan’s administration, took the stage after Jonathan’s comments, standing firm on his earlier assertion.

“The boss who sacked me… I was constructively dismissed. Despite this, I continue to respect Jonathan, and I hold no grudges against anyone,” Sanusi stated.
