Benin City, Edo State — Philip Shaibu, the Deputy Governor of Edo State, conducted an inspection of several significant government projects today, including the 170-room Radisson Hotel, the State CID Road, and the Museum of West African Art (MOOWA), all located within the Government Reservation Area (GRA) of Benin City.

During the visit to the Radisson Hotel, Shaibu and his team were guided through the facilities by project manager Engr. Samuel Adeyemi. The tour showcased various amenities, including standard rooms, expansive executive suites, a presidential suite, a lobby bar and café, a ballroom, a restaurant, a pool bar and grill, as well as a gym and spa. The contractor, Shapoorji Pallonji Construction Company, assured the Deputy Governor that the first phase of the hotel project would be completed by November this year.

Expressing satisfaction with the project’s progress, which is currently estimated at 52 percent completion, Shaibu emphasized the necessity of adhering to timelines and ensuring a high standard of quality in the construction work.

Following the hotel inspection, the Deputy Governor also reviewed the ongoing work at the State CID Road, which includes the development of underground and surface drainage systems. Shaibu concluded his tour at MOOWA, where he was shown various facilities, including storage areas, laboratories for conservation, and spaces for digital production and archaeology.

The inspections reflect the Edo State government’s commitment to enhancing infrastructure and promoting cultural heritage in the region.
