The Edo State Government has issued a warning to Deputy Governor Philip Shaibu, advising him to refrain from violating existing laws following his inspection of the Radisson Hotel construction site in the Government Reserved Area (GRA) of Benin City.
In a statement from Crusoe Osagie, Special Adviser on Media Projects, Shaibu was urged to respect the law while carrying out his duties. Osagie emphasized that while Shaibu has the right to tour state projects, his actions, as well as those of accompanying security personnel, must align with legal and constitutional frameworks.
“We caution Deputy Governor Philip Shaibu and security agencies not to engage in actions that breach the laws. Shaibu should wait for the Appeal Court’s ruling on his matter and continue to subject himself to the authority of the law,” the statement read.
The government also reassured citizens of its commitment to safeguarding lives and property across the state, urging the public to continue with their lawful activities.
