A woman identified as Odeale Fatimah has been arrested by the Ogun State Police Command for allegedly using a razor blade to inflict injuries on a 10-year-old boy, Olasunkanmi Oluwadamilara, after accusing him of stealing N600.
The incident was brought to the attention of the police on January 13, 2025, around 11:00 a.m., when representatives from the National Association of Proprietors of Private Schools, Obada Oko branch, visited the station. Led by the group’s coordinator, Olagbegi Moses, they arrived with the young victim, a student of Dinamis Private School in the Araromi area of Obada Oko. The boy had deep cuts on his hands, prompting immediate police intervention.
During questioning, Olasunkanmi disclosed that his guardian, Odeale, residing in the housing area of Obada Oko, was responsible for his injuries. According to the boy, she used a razor blade as punishment after accusing him of stealing N600 to buy ice cream for his friends.
Upon arrest, Odeale admitted to the act, confirming she inflicted the injuries on the boy as a form of discipline.
The spokesperson of the Ogun State Police Command, SP Omolola Odutola, confirmed the arrest and stated that investigations are ongoing. Further updates will be provided as the case progresses.
