The state Commissioner for Information, Okey Kanu, disclosed this on Monday while addressing journalists about the outcome of this week’s State Executive Council meeting, chaired by Governor Alex Otti.

He said “Abia State Government reiterated its commitment to give pride of place to traditional institutions in the promotion of cultural heritage as a people.

To give further impetus to this, the state government has commenced stipends ranging from N250,000 to N350,000 stipend to traditional rulers in the state.”
